Country Clubs in Phoenix see busy Summer

country clubs in Phoenix

The summer is flying by! We are continuing to build programs and schedules for the coming Season and they will be available on ForeTees throughout the months ahead. Please keep an eye out for your favorite events, and plan to participate.

Country Clubs in Phoenix plan to get back to our Traditional events at similar times as they were before COVID turned our world upside down.

Our Fall Member-Member tournament, THE RODEO, for women and men will be played in November. We anticipate a full field, so be prepared to sign up on ForeTees as of September 1st at 7 a.m. You are welcome to play with any member you choose for this tournament.

Other dates to keep in mind for your scheduling purposes are our Scottsdale country clubs

Fall overseeding dates where the course and practice range will be closed from September 27th through October 21st and will reopen on Friday October 22nd.

If this next message is a sign of the times, we hope it doesn’t last long.

Regarding overseeding at Country Clubs in Phoenix, did you know that we overseed 90 acres of turf each fall, as many as any club in the valley. It takes approximately 77,000 lbs. of rye seed to get this done. Last year the seed was $1.09 per pound, we locked our buy-in at $1.55 which was the rate 7 months ago.

The rate today, if one did not have a rate locked in ahead of time, is $2.05 per lb., oh my!!!!

Water, water everywhere!

As I compose this letter,  it is raining like we have not seen in years at Scottsdale country clubs.

In the last 10 hours we have measured 1 and ¾ “ inches and more to come in the next 24 hours.

We have been in a drought for years so hopefully this will help fill our water sources throughout the state, which we need desperately to irrigate our golf courses in the future.
