Folds of Honor Hosted Golf Tournament at The Country Club at DC Ranch

Introduction

On May 20, 2024, The Country Club at DC Ranch was proud to host the Wingman Open, a significant golf event benefiting the Folds of Honor organization. This day was not just about playing golf; it was a heartfelt gathering that supported the families of our nation's heroes.

With over 120 golfers and more than 20 volunteers participating, we managed to raise over $400,000 for Folds of Honor, contributing to their mission of providing educational scholarships to families affected by loss or injury in the line of duty.

The event was marked by a series of unforgettable moments, starting with an emotional opening featuring parachute gliders and bagpipes, setting a respectful and memorable tone for the day. The participation and speeches by notable members such as Tom Lehman and Matt Neumann, who both played instrumental roles in the event’s success, highlighted our commitment to this noble cause.

At The Country Club at DC Ranch, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Hosting the Wingman Open was a way for us to unite our love for the country with our passion for golf, all while making a significant impact on the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

Overview of the Folds of Honor Wingman Open at The Country Club at DC Ranch

We had the privilege of hosting the Wingman Open at our club this year, a meaningful event designed to gather support for the Folds of Honor organization. This was an exclusive golf tournament where participants came together to play for a cause that's bigger than the game—providing support to the families of military and first responders who have sacrificed for our nation. Our event saw an overwhelming response with 120 golfers and more than 20 dedicated volunteers, all united to make a significant difference.

On this special day, every swing taken on our meticulously prepared courses was a step toward assisting families in need of educational scholarships. The Folds of Honor Wingman Open at our club wasn't just a day of golf; it was an opportunity for members and guests to contribute to a noble mission, strengthening the community connection through shared values of honor and commitment.

Highlights and Unique Moments from the 2024 Event

The 2024 Wingman Open was filled with memorable moments that touched the hearts of all who attended. The event commenced with an emotionally charged opening ceremony, featuring parachute gliders who elegantly descended onto our golf courses, their skills perfectly aligned with the spirit of freedom we were there to celebrate. The soothing sounds of bagpipes followed, echoing through the greens and enhancing the solemn and respectful atmosphere.

During the event, speeches by revered members of our community, including Tom Lehman and Matt Neumann, deeply inspired the participants. Their words not only underscored the importance of the Folds of Honor mission but also reminded everyone about the value of service and sacrifice.

Not to mention, the unusual overcast weather in Arizona added a comforting backdrop to our course, making the day not only historic but also pleasantly cool, ideal for the game of golf. Each of these elements combined to make the 2024 Wingman Open an unforgettable event filled with passion and purpose.

The Impact of Your Participation: Supporting Folds of the Honor

Participating in the Wingman Open at our club goes far beyond just playing a round of golf. Every stroke played, every sponsorship committed, and each volunteer’s hour contributed significantly towards the impactful mission of Folds of Honor. This year, together, we raised over $400,000—an achievement that directly translates into educational scholarships for the family members of fallen or disabled service members. This support empowers recipients, enabling them to pursue their educational goals and contribute positively to society.

The funds you help raise through your participation not only bring hope but also provide tangible changes in the lives of these brave families. For more than a decade, Folds of Honor has been a beacon of support for military families, and with your continued involvement, we can sustain and enhance this support. Your engagement in the event symbolizes real-world support and assurance that the sacrifices made by our military personnel and their families are not forgotten.
