How about this for your mental game tip for Private golf clubs in Scottsdale

best golf course in Scottsdale

Even after you’ve secured your mind in the present at the
best golf course in Scottsdale, you still have to direct it toward the task at hand, or “process.” Most players think in terms of results, outcomes, or consequences (i.e. thinking about making a birdie putt instead of focusing on the execution of the stroke required). While you’re in action on the course, thoughts of winning and succeeding can actually inhibit performance.

This type of thinking is extremely typical at all levels. And sometimes, despite poor thinking, the putt is holed. However, if you recognize this type of thinking while it’s happening and put yourself back in the process (“focus on rolling this putt toward the right edge”), you will discover that executes more consistently in competition overtime at the Golf course in Scottsdale.

Staying in the process is extremely challenging for players at every level at Scottsdale golf club because the tendency to think and speak in terms of results is part of the paradigm of the game. You, for example, may say to yourself before a match, “if I win this match, I move on to the semi-finals of the club championship.” And after the match, everyone you see will ask “How’d you do?” or “Did you win?”

The emphasis placed on the outcome by others is very difficult to overcome, however, if you listen to top players talk after a round at Scottsdale golf courses, they routinely say they stayed in the process of hitting each shot as well as possible, and that they didn’t worry about other people, how others were playing, or what number they’d have to shoot.

While playing at the Golf course in Scottsdale, Trust what you’ve trained (and prepared) to do and let the shot outcome be what it is, without judgment.

Here is a closing tip from Jack Nicklaus: “your worst putt is always going to be better than your best chip.” Don’t be afraid to practice your off-green putting.

Hope you enjoy your game at the best golf course in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale Golf Courses Understand The Busy Tee Sheets

best golf course in scottsdale

The best golf course in Scottsdale understand how tee times are literally sold out in seemingly moments as each player in a group secures a time, and after they have checked with each other in their group, they pick the best one and release the less preferred ones back to Foretees for others to use. This usually takes about ten minutes for more times to be available. As it is right now, this is within the process at Scottsdale golf club and we are working with Foretees to see what additional solutions might be available for those trying to book a time and are unable to do so. Everyone wants the same times, and we are doing our best to manage the process of seven days of booking times in advance starting at 7:00 am daily for the following week. You might be reminded that an X to reserve a position goes back to the system within 24 hours of the starting time reserved, which leaves the vacant times available to other players. The Club also reserves the right to pair players to make full groups at the best golf course in Scottsdale, to make more starting times available.

Additionally, as a reminder, you should also know that no show / no call will be charged for unused starting times at Scottsdale golf courses. The club also will permit the same member to only secure one starting time per day. If you would like to play more holes, please talk with the professional staff and check if a time is available. This practice is to make certain everyone has a chance to play one round before a select group can play twice in the same day. We ask that you please review the enclosed information and let us know if we can answer any questions. Thanks for your understanding and we hope that you have found this information helpful.

Scottsdale Golf Courses Wishes Everyone A Happy New Year!

best golf course in scottsdale

Happy New Year!  As we move past the Holiday Season I am truly excited for what the New Year has to bring to Scottsdale golf courses as we thankfully put 2020 in our rearview mirror.  While 2020 was obviously a very difficult year to navigate through, we have done it; and now we should all be excited to turn the page to 2021 and all that it will bring to the Club, its members, and staff.  I am so proud of the team at Scottsdale golf club as they have adapted throughout and provided the membership with a Club experience that has kept our membership engaged, despite some of our limitations in offerings.  Thank you to the many members who have taken the time to acknowledge the extreme efforts of the team throughout the year, as it is very much appreciated.  Despite all of the craziness of 2020, The Club continues to truly be the talk of the town as evidenced by our significant waiting lists in all membership categories and strong member satisfaction levels.  The Scottsdale golf courses team is continually looking at ways to enhance the member experience and I look forward to what is to come next as we continue to evolve.

The Winter season at the Best golf course in Scottsdale is in full swing as we see the Golf Course, Clubhouse, and Tennis courts rocking with business, especially golf and tennis, which both have seen record numbers of participation.  In Club business, we will be having our Annual Meeting for Golf Members on January 22nd at 5 p.m. and as of this time we expect this meeting to take place in the courtyard.  By now, each equity Golf member should have received a ballot to vote for the open positions for the Board.  These ballots are due back to the Club or sent via mail on or before January 20th. The results of the vote for the open positions will be announced at the Annual Meeting along with the annual reports from the Finance, House, Golf and Grounds and Tennis Committees.

As we continue through what will be a busy few months, I want to once again remind everyone of the need to make a reservation in our Dining Room, especially during our dinner service as we continue to be operating at 50% occupancy.  As you have read previously, doing so greatly enhances the level of service that we are able to provide which we believe is paramount to a successful Club experience, but it also helps us manage the social distancing factor at the Best golf course in Scottsdale.   For those who have helped us in this, I would like to thank you immensely.  There are a number of ways that you can make reservations, from Open Table on your smartphones and computers to calling the Concierge or Dining Hosts to make reservations.  Please also note that as we see more guests through the coming months, they also must adhere to our Club policies with regards to COVID which we fully expect to be with us through the rest of our busy winter season.

Lastly, on behalf of Best golf course in Scottsdale, please accept my sincere thanks and gratitude for your generous contributions to the annual Employee Appreciation Fund.  As a result, your total contribution to the fund was over $203,000, with 99% of Club Members participating!  As you likely already know, every employee of the Club (with the exception of myself) receives a portion of this fund – calculated by dividing the total amount of funds available, after taxes, by the total number of months collectively served by the Club’s employees. Please trust me when I say that your giving made a huge difference to many of our employees during this holiday season.  The Club continues to have so many great things going for it and it truly serves as the home of fun, family and friendliness in the Valley and beyond!

Holiday Greetings from your Golf Course Maintenance team at Country Clubs in Phoenix

scottsdale golf courses

It’s hard to believe that it’s already December considering the above-average temperatures that we have been experiencing at Country Clubs in Phoenix  The overseeded turf grass is responding well as expected with higher water usage over the last couple of months compared to the last 2 years due to unseasonably warmer weather and no rainfall.  As I sit here writing this today, we are approaching 9 months without any measurable rainfall in Scottsdale. The wall-to-wall overseed is being received well by the Country Clubs in Phoenix membership. The non-overseeded Tif-Eagle greens are still growing and holding up to the abundant amount of rounds played. As we move into the 3 coldest months of the year, it is a very critical time that we are taking all precautions to preserve the density and consistency, and overall health of our greens.  In the event that there is frost, we have put protocols in place to minimize any risk of turf damage at the  Scottsdale golf courses

This month we will also be doing our follow-up pre-emergent application for the control of Poa Annua in all turf areas on the Scottsdale golf courses  This will be the third year of doing these applications in which we have seen significant progress with the elimination of this nuisance weed.

We hope you enjoy your holiday season and do want to offer these reminders for continued enjoyable and playable course conditions:

Please repair ballmarks.

Please enter and exit at low areas of bunkers.

Please fill divots on the course with sand and seed.

Please drive on fairways instead of rough.

Please keep pushcarts in designated areas.

Thank you for all your help and see you on the golf course in Scottsdale!

Scottsdale golf courses Prepare for Winter Season

scottsdale golf courses

We are off and running as we head into the Winter albeit much differently than we have in year’s past. It is hard to believe we are entering the final part of  2020 here at
Scottsdale golf courses but it is so great to see all that is going on here at the Ranch despite our operations being modified. On opening weekend we were able to have over 500 players enjoy the freshly over seeded golf course and despite the fact that our opening looked a bit different than in year’s past I would call our opening week a success with all of the golf, tennis, fitness and dining offerings receiving great feedback and support. During the weekend, Chef Lenny and his team rolled out new lunch and dinner menus at the main Clubhouse and Ranch House Cantina which have all been positively welcomed. It has been great to see the support of our members and the positive feedback that we received throughout the weekend as our management team has worked long and hard over the past few months to further enhance the member experience at Scottsdale golf courses.

As we sent to the membership this past week I wanted to share a few of our COVID-19 precautions so that everyone clearly understands our approach as we aim to keep everyone as safe as possible at Scottsdale golf courses this coming winter season. As with our approach throughout this pandemic, we have followed the guidelines from the CDC and the Arizona Department of Health Services. It is our goal to remain open in a safe manner for you and our employees this season and we will need your help throughout the coming months to do so.

As a reminder, we expect members to wear their masks when entering the Clubhouse at ALL times as well as when you cannot maintain proper social distancing, which is for the benefit of you, your fellow members, and our team. Please do not take offense when asked to put on your mask by a team member, as they are instructed to help us all remember when and where you will need to wear a mask. We just ask that everyone be respectful of these guidelines so that our members, staff, and guests feel as comfortable as possible here at the country clubs in Phoenix. The  Golf course in Scottsdale will continue doing our part with staff wearing masks as well as the continued additional sanitation practices that are taking place in all areas of the Club for everyone’s benefit. It is because of these practices that the country clubs in Phoenix remains open in all areas with the 50% max occupancy in the Clubhouse and up to 25% occupancy in the fitness center, which are both in place per the Arizona Department of Health Services. As mentioned previously, we were able to enhance our outdoor spaces this summer which have been in high demand these past few months and will continue to be through the winter which gives us much more seating capacity. In order to properly manage traffic through the Clubhouse, we ask that you make reservations so that we can avoid not being able to take care of you and your guests. It is important that if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or just are not feeling well that you stay away from the crowd.

We recently met with the Board of Directors at the Golf course in Scottsdale and one of the topics which drew a fair amount of discussion was the amount of golf rounds being played.  The focus of the conversation was the continuation of an increased level of activity on both the course and practice facility and how we will be able to manage this from both a player and agronomic standpoint moving forward.

I can first share with you that all the respected Golf course in Scottsdale in the valley are experiencing the same amount of rounds by numbers as we are to date, and we all expect this trend to continue through this season.  Many players have more time to play and are enjoying it on the golf course as golfing is seen as a safe way to pass time despite the ongoing COVID pandemic.  For example, we forecasted in the month of November we would play 3600 rounds and when the final play counts are tabulated, we will be closer to 4600.  We know your preferred tee time might be difficult to get, but rest assured we are doing our best to get players out as best we can.  We recently went back to a double tee start on the Golf course in Scottsdale  Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for multiple reasons, many prefer a morning time year-round and it enables us to get the maximum 18 hole rounds played when we have limited daylight at the end of the day.

~ANNOUNCEMENT~

We are thankful to update you with increasingly good news at Scottsdale private golf courses which we all need in this challenging season.

It has been great to see so many of you enjoying your Club despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Scottsdale private golf courses have focused on being your safe haven during these past few months and the team has worked diligently to stay healthy, stay open, and stay ahead on the ever-changing regulations in our many outlets.

Fortunately, with the recent reopening of the fitness center at Scottsdale private golf courses we now have all amenities back online.  With the approaching fall/winter season we need to make sure that everyone adheres to the rules as outlined by the management team - unanimously supported by the Board - so that we can remain open without undue restrictions or unnecessary closings throughout the season.  None of us enjoy many of these restrictions but they are non-negotiables to continuing operation.

While the coming winter season will look different at Scottsdale Golf Club than it has in year's past, your Team at the Club is working very hard to make the golf course conditions superb, add additional and upgraded outdoor dining space, and to implement new offerings and services for you and your fellow members so that you can remain engaged at and truly enjoy at the private golf clubs in Scottsdale.

The recent Monsoon Tournament at Scottsdale Golf Club demonstrated how efficient the Team can be and how much fun we can all have despite the safety requirements.  The Team under Kyle and Dick's leadership performed like the well-oiled machine we have so enjoyed and appreciate over the years. The 42 teams of golfers had a great time. Social distancing, masks, plastic cart dividers and so much more were there for safety and not perceived as an impediment to enjoyment. And enjoy the day everyone did. The courtyard food and drink offerings before, after, and on all 18 holes served by enthusiastic Team members were over the top and the course conditions were great. And in addition, there was Heidi's boutique offering of sports clothing accompanied by bubbly and the now/new normal other functions and usage across the Club from full tennis courts, Zigi's gasoline offering, food, gym, to pool fun and more. The day ended with a sell-out Saturday night dinner crowd - spread across all dining spaces indoors and out - with a definite vibrant "buzz."
