Scottsdale Country Club Kicks off Season

Scottsdale Country Club is off and running as we head into the month of November! If our winter season kick off weekend is any indication of what the coming months hold, we are going to be in for a busy and exciting time.  Scottsdale Country Club started the festivities with 176 on the golf course to enjoy the freshly overseeded golf course, and finished the day with over 300 members and guests enjoying great food, service and entertainment at the Scottsdale Country Club Season Kickoff Party. Following those fully subscribed events on Friday the 20th, Chef Lenny and his team rolled out new Scottsdale Country Club lunch and dinner menus which have all been positively welcomed. It has been great to see the support of our members and the positive feedback that we received throughout the weekend. Our Scottsdale Country Club management team has worked long and hard over the past few months to enhance the member experience at the Club. The level of excitement here at Scottsdale Golf Club is at an all-time high as we move forward to vote for Phase II of the Facility Master Plan which concludes November 17th when all ballots are due. Feedback from the membership has been very positive over the past few months. We conducted 14 Informational Sessions which covered roughly 240 members. In addition, the renderings around the Scottsdale Golf Club  and the printed brochures have created a significant buzz these past few weeks. The ballots went out to the membership on November 1st through the mail but also were sent to members via email with return instructions attached. We encourage everyone to vote for this project as every vote counts! For those who are unaware, we need a quorum of 25% of the voting Scottsdale Golf Club membership and then a two-thirds approval for the project to pass successfully. If you should have any questions regarding any of the components of Phase II, please do not hesitate to contact me in advance of the 17th. The month of October also represents the beginning of our new fiscal year in which our business plan calls for flat play counts in golf and a small increase in the other operating departments of the. Scottsdale Golf Club As we closed out FY2017, we had another successful year, hitting over $11.1 million in revenues, while also turning in a net profit of $79,535, which then is placed into our capital reserves, increasing the reserves to over $2.4 million. This is important to note due to our capital needs in the coming years. During the month of November you will see communications from the Scottsdale Golf Club on a number of other fronts, including information regarding the Employee Holiday Fund contributions, as well as requests for interest in serving your Board here at the Club for the terms available. Please note that Regular Golf Members are eligible to serve on the Board and the terms for Board service are three (3) year commitments. Following this, we will also be sending out requests for interest for committee service for the coming year in early December which is open to all membership categories. Once again thank you for your support of this wonderful Club and I look forward to seeing you all at the Club in the coming weeks!
